It's All About Love: February's Glossybox Review

After subscribing to Birchbox for over a year, I decided it was time to invest in ANOTHER subscription box. So, with a few different beauty boxes popping up, I figured I’d try Glossybox. I’ve heard good things about this brand and I wanted to be part of that community too. As well as this, seeing as I’ve always been so happy with my Birchbox and the products I got, it’s safe to say I had high hopes for my very first Glossybox subscription this month.

If you’d like to take a look at my Birchbox review from this month, you can find it here.

For any of you who don’t know, Glossybox is a monthly beauty subscription where you receive five products. These could be anything within the beauty, skincare or even healthcare range. It costs £10/£8.50 (depending on the plan you choose) a month plus shipping.

So, what’s in the box?

Lord&Berry Magic Brown Perfect Eye Brow Pencil - RRP £16.19

I’ve recently had HD Brows done so I’m not using any eyebrow pencils at the moment. Nonetheless, just before I had my brows done, I tried out this pencil. It’s creamy and a lovely shade for my eyebrows. For the purpose of showing you the colour, I have put more on my eyebrows than I would on any other day. I am totally impressed with the colour, texture and finish of this eyebrow pencil.

Usually I’m not a fan of eyebrow pencils as I find them to be quite sharp however, this one isn’t sharp at all. It glides on easily and effortlessly. Would I buy this product if I were to use eyebrow pencils on a daily basis? Yes, probably.

It will be great for the times when my eyebrows have lost a little too much colour from my beauty treatments to ensure that they look fuller. For all of these reasons, I’d currently rate this product 7/10. At the moment, I won’t be using it too often. However, I think Lord&Berry products are great - I once received a strobing pencil in one of my Birchbox subscriptions, so it’s nice to add to my little collection of quality pencils.

Luxie 560 Medium Fan Face Brush - RRP £15

Those of you who have read my previous posts will know that I LOVE highlighter. It is my favourite part of doing my make-up because I love adding a little (or a lot…) of shimmer to my face. I don’t use the current fan brush that I own because it’s quite cheap and thin, however this one is soft and has thicker bristles. I’m definitely considering buying a new full set of make-up brushes, so any new ones in my beauty subscriptions are welcome!

Using this brush is super easy and it collects a lovely amount of product to brush onto the cheekbones. I love the colour of the brush too - so that’s a bonus!

Regenerate Enamel Science Advanced Toothpaste - RRP £2.50 for 14ml

Truth be told, I do often worry about my teeth because I like them to be as perfect as possible. I floss, use specific toothpaste and use mouthwash because I always want them to be super clean. So, receiving a toothpaste was something that intrigued me. Admittedly, I was surprised. I didn’t expect to get one but nonetheless I was pleased.

After trying this product I’m generally happy. The taste wasn’t too bad, I’d definitely say that it tasted better once foamed up (or perhaps I got used to it?). My usual toothpaste is the Colgate Total Daily Repair toothpaste which I’ve been using for quite some time. It aims to repair early damage, which is the same as the toothpaste I received in my box! I’m happy with the whole concept but I’m not sure I’d buy it over my usual toothpaste purely because it’s more expensive and doesn’t taste as nice.

I’d rate this product 6/10. It’s a shame that there was less than half a tube’s worth of toothpaste in there too…

Vitamasques Rose Hold Dust Sheet Mask - RRP £5.99

Recently, I’ve quite been into trying face masks because I love feeling like my face is super soft and clean. This product doesn’t get many points in terms of fragrance because I really disliked the smell. Regardless, it still left my face feeling softer than before. All you have to do is cleanse your face first then apply this mask, leave it on for 20 minutes before peeling off and allowing the residue to soak into your skin.

I’d rate this product 6/10. I probably wouldn’t buy it separately but it did give my skin a nice dose of moisture. Having said this, I would be open to trying other face masks by the same brand but in a different scent.

Huda Beauty Lip Contour - RRP £16

I’ve heard many good things about Huda Beauty, so it was interesting for me to receive a product by them. I’ve never actually used a lip liner so I’m unsure how to feel about this product. Perhaps this is mostly because I’m unfamiliar with how and when to use it. Although I probably won’t use this product very often, I do think it’s great that I’ve been sent something I’ve never used before because it allows me to experiment in the future.

I received this product in a light brown colour which has a smooth consistency. I’d currently rate this product 4/10, not for the quality of the product but more for the fact that it is not something I’m going to use on a regular basis.

I don’t think this month’s box was too bad - there’s a couple of things I have used and appreciated but the rest will go into storage for when it’s an appropriate time to use them. Despite this, I am still looking forward to next month when I get another box!

Love, Ali x
